Buried in Grief

This might look like a song but isn’t one. It is a free verse poem that hit me a few minutes ago, yesterday.

It is about whatever you wish it to be about. That being said, sometimes, unhappiness hides in plain sight but for one to acknowledge it and then act to replace it with happiness is not a simple thing.

Take care!

Buried in Grief

Locked inside your head
You mourn the mistakes you’ve made
And you don’t see that I am here
Begging for you to free me

And when my tears are rolling down
You don’t understand what lies behind
I have to cry so you’d notice
But, don’t you know it is for you?

As the world turns upside down
Your chief concern shows only pride
For your corner stands in the shade
Buried in grief

I wish you would listen to feel better
Your pain should not chain you
To the regrets of a past life
You’ve never had control over

So I stand there looking at you
Helpless to bring you joy
Your heart is deaf even to mine
Your thoughts have just become too loud

As the world turns upside down
Your chief concern shows only pride
For your corner stands in the shade
Buried in grief

In this turmoil you’ve found solace
I only hope it’ll be enough
For your strength isn’t endless
Cheer up and embrace the day.
